Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 30, 2026

Deering Industries (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://www.deeringindustries.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, the choices you have about that information, and how to contact us with questions or to exercise your rights.

By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information in these categories:

  • Identifiers — name, email address, postal address, phone number, account login.
  • Commercial information — products purchased or returned, purchase history, payment confirmations.
  • Internet activity — IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, pages visited, referrer URL, timestamps, click activity, and similar log data (collected automatically).
  • Geolocation — approximate location inferred from IP address (city / region level).
  • Communications — messages you send us by email, contact form, or phone, and our responses.
  • Payment information — we do not store full payment-card numbers on our servers. Card data is collected and processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive only a transaction confirmation token and the last four digits of the card.

How we collect it

  • Directly from you when you place an order, create an account, or contact us.
  • Automatically via cookies and similar technologies as you browse the Site.
  • From service providers such as our payment processor (transaction outcomes), shipping carriers (delivery confirmations), and fraud-prevention services.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process and fulfill your orders, including shipping and returns.
  • To create and manage your customer account.
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notices, password resets).
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, including detecting and blocking card-testing and brute-force attacks.
  • To improve the Site, our products, and our customer experience.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising or sell it to data brokers.

3. Who We Share It With

We share personal information only with the parties below, and only as necessary to operate the Site or comply with the law:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy.
  • Shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, USPS) — to deliver your orders. We share the shipping address, name, and phone number you provide at checkout.
  • SiteGround — hosting provider for this Site. Privacy: https://www.siteground.com/privacy.htm.
  • Resend, Inc. — transactional email delivery (order confirmations, password resets). Privacy: https://resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Wordfence (Defiant, Inc.) — website security and fraud prevention. May process IP addresses and visit metadata to detect attacks. Privacy: https://www.wordfence.com/privacy-policy/.
  • Google LLC — if Google Analytics or reCAPTCHA is in use on the Site for analytics or anti-bot protection.
  • Legal compliance and protection of rights — we may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, to prevent fraud or harm, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.
  • Business transfers — if Deering Industries is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner subject to a successor privacy policy.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember items in your cart, prevent fraud, and understand how the Site is used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; if you do, parts of the Site (such as login or checkout) may not function correctly.

We do not use cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising.

5. Data Retention

We retain order and account information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described above and to comply with tax, accounting, and legal-record obligations (typically 7 years for financial records). Account information is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request earlier deletion as described in Section 7.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption for all data in transit, web application firewall protection, multi-factor authentication on administrator accounts, and access controls limited to personnel with a need to know. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a confirmed breach involving your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”) give you the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right to Know. Request the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom it has been shared.
  • Right to Delete. Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, completed transactions, fraud prevention, and legal compliance).
  • Right to Correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. California law allows you to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Deering Industries does not sell or share your personal information. There is nothing to opt out of, but you may submit a request to confirm this.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not deny goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality if you exercise any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at mitch@deeringind.com or by phone at (562) 595-1668. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request — typically by confirming information already on file. We will respond within 45 days as required by law (extendable once by another 45 days where reasonably necessary).

You may also designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. We will require proof of the agent’s authorization and may still ask you to verify your identity directly.

8. Other US State Privacy Laws

If you reside in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another US state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you may have rights similar to those described above (access, deletion, correction, opt-out of targeted advertising or sale). To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 11. We will treat your request the same way regardless of which state you live in.

9. International Users

Deering Industries is based in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data-protection rules than your home country. If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, the lawful basis for our processing is the performance of a contract (your order) and our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website. Contact us to exercise your access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection rights under GDPR/UK GDPR.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not intended for and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
